The 7 Deadly Sins Book Tag

Woman and apple - the 7 deadly sins book tag

I got this tag from Mathom Books! It was originally created by Bookishly Malyza. I am so grateful for YouTube book bloggers coming up with such fun themed ideas for talking about books and reading. It's been a great source for blog posts, and this one is no exception. Now, let's take a look at how I've sinned!

GREED - What is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

In Japan, I got a hard copy of The Everything Grammar and Style Book for 1 yen. I have no idea what my most expensive book is. I usually tend to not spend more than $35-40 on a single book, but I'm sure I spent more than that on a college textbook.

WRATH - What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Ack! I don't want to name this author. She's won tons of awards and her books are incredibly popular fantasies, and I love her, but sometimes her stuff is problematic or just has issues where things make no sense, and I'm like WHYYYYYYYY?

GLUTTONY—What book have you deliciously devoured over and over with no shame whatsoever?

I don't really reread books, but I do reread comics. I've reread a Korean BL titled BJ Alex at least three times.

SLOTH—What book have you neglected reading due to laziness?

Tons of books I had to read during graduate school, college, and high school. A lot of it had to do with being assigned books I had zero interest in, and reading them was like torture. I can usually hide it but I remember one time in high school not being able to get away with it, and that was with Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. I kept bombing the pop quizzes the teacher assigned to make sure we were reading. I eventually caught up, but still...ugh.

PRIDE—What book do you most talk about in order to sound like a very intellectual reader?

I don't read quote-unquote intellectual books. I read genre fiction, which gets sneered at. I don't care. I don't try to hide it.

LUST—What attributes do you find most attractive in male or female characters?

I'm a sucker for characters who are kind and charming. But particularly charming.

ENVY—What books would you most like to receive as a gift?

I have a lengthy wish list separated by YA and adult fiction, and comics by genre...too many books to list here, but if someone helped knocked through my wish list, that would rock!
