The Cupid Book Tag

Statues of cherubs with bow and arrow - the cupid book tag

I got this tag from Youtuber Noelle Gallagher and it's definitely a romantic-themed tag! Perfect for Valentine's Day, I should think. Let's go!

💘 Tag Questions 💘

-What's the perfect candy to eat while reading?

I don't really eat while reading but I'm thinking something old fashioned and not messy would be perfect, like Caramel Creams. Ooh, now I'm craving some!

-What's a song that reminds you of your favorite romance (or just your favorite romantic song in general)?

I don't really listen to romantic music (unless you're counting classical) but I remember when I heard Eddie Vedder's "Longing to Belong," I thought that song was pretty sweet.

-If you were to go on a perfect reading date, where would it be? It could be somewhere across the world, or something more general like the beach, the forest, etc.! The sky's the limit!

The statue courtyard in the European Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art would be a cool place to read--just stick some comfortable fainting couches in there for lying down while reading and it would be perfect.

-What's the best friendship you've read in a book?

Ack! This threw me for a loop because most books I read are friends to lovers. Hmm...I really liked the friends group in the Anna Dressed in Blood series by Kendare Blake. I also liked the friends group in Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters.

-Create the perfect bouquet for your favorite book or character

There are these dark blue glitter poinsettias that Kroger's put out one holiday season that I thought were beautiful. I bouquet of those would be perfect for Andresh, the male lead from my graduate thesis. As for a favorite character for a book that's not my own, I'd choose Nathaniel Thorn from Sorcery of Thorns and give him a bouquet of the Crown of Thorns plant because its flowers are pretty but the plant is poisonous. And of course, covered in thorns.

-What romance do you not necessarily need a whole sequel for; you just want to check in on them and make sure everything is going well?

~SPOILER~

...Grey and Lia Mara from the Cursebreakers series by Brigid Kemmerer are going to have a baby! I want to see how they're doing!

-What date in a book (or movie!) do you wish you could go on yourself?

This is going to sound so cheesy but in Disney's The Little Mermaid when Prince Eric takes Ariel out on the boat, I just thought the moonlight and the scenery was really pretty. That would be a nice date. Minus all the singing, of course.

-What is your favorite nickname from a romance?

I cannot for the life of me remember what the nickname is, and I did some Googling and ended up empty-handed, but I thought the terms of endearment between Grey and Lia Mara (in Lia Mara's native language) was kind of cute.

-What are your most anticipated romances of 2023? (Could be new releases or just romances you're excited to finally get to!)

I don't keep up with romances very often but when they go on sale and I get an email about it, I tend to buy the ones that sound interesting. Some of them are historical (and I can't remember what they are) but two contemporary romances I'd like to read are The Love Con by Seressia Glass and Vanessa Jared's Got A Man by LaQuette.
