HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Today's post is a questionnaire from New Year 2020s that is designed to make you examine yourself and how you want to change or prepare for the coming year. Here are 10 questions that got me thinking.

. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .

What would you try if you knew you could not fail?

I would be much braver with my writing. I would also go back to drawing in Manga Studio and making art. I wouldn't mind trying my hand at making comics.

What would you like to be your biggest triumph by the end of the year?

An agent for Son of the Siren.

What advice would you like to give yourself as you begin the New Year?

Be more gentle with yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself and demanding of perfection.

What would you be most happy about completing?

I would be relieved and happy to have completed revisions for Son of the Siren, whether it's the revisions I've started now, or I hope revisions based on feedback from Author Mentor Match (if I get in the program--applications are due in January and acceptances come in February).

What major indulgence are you willing to experience?

I have a shopping problem. I'm able to indulge it now because I have a job that pays enough to, but I remember how poor I was back in the USA, and I'm scared to return to that situation when I move back. I would like to be able to indulge myself with shopping while in the US, whether it's for software, cosplay, clothing, makeup, books...the usual things I treat myself with.

What would you most like to change about yourself?

I really, really wish I could lose the weight I've gained over the years from medication. I'd also like to be more active.

What do you think your biggest risk will be?

I think querying agents is going to be risky for me. I'm putting myself and my book out there and I'll have to deal with lots of rejection, which has always been hard for me.

What brings you the most joy and how are you going to do more of that?

I want to say writing, but actually, it's been pretty tumultuous the past couple of years, so...I'm going to say cosplay. I love to cosplay for conventions. I would do more of it, but it all depends on the coronavirus situation. I'm not going near a con if things are still bad, and I have a feeling they'll be bad for quite some time.

What is one change you could make to your lifestyle that would give you more peace?

Walking more, whether it's in the neighborhood or out in nature (I prefer nature).

At the end of the year, how would you like your life to be transformed?

I would like to be a healthier, happier person with a good future ahead in publishing. I'd love to have my book out there in the world.

These are pretty simple, straightforward questions and I hope they get you to reflect on yourself and what you want for the New Year. I wish you lots of happiness and good health for 2022 and beyond. Thank you for reading!
